My new objet de désir: beautiful hand made terracotta art statue
I did some research and found out that ROSA COTA - (ROSA COTA stamped or incised into the bottom of the base, look below) indicates a local Portuguese artist (1901 - 1983). She was known for her hand made, hand painted clay statues.
Even it is Portuguese, this pair of bulls reminds me of beloved artist Frida Kahlo about whom I will soon write about on this blog... So, it is a perfect item for collectors of colourful Mexican style statues like me!

Tangerine Dream
Bruno
Frisoni ist der Designer des berühmten Pariser Schuhlabels Roger Vivier. In
by Frisoni for Roger Vivier als Accessoires finde ich hip. Beide Fotos von
François Halard für US Vogue. www.francoishalard.com

Élitis - things like wind and light...
By the way: Objekte wie das hübsche Geweih liegen ganz im Trend.

I love the the Blue and the Yellow on this pic.
Der Kultfilm "Il Gattopardo" von Luchino Visconti aus dem Jahre 1963 spielt im 19. Jahrhundert.

Rooftop Gardens
Idyllic urban oases offer inspiration to anyone yearning to add nature and serenity to an outdoor living space. Rooftop Gardens showcases some of the most unique and extraordinary outdoor spaces in New York City that urban dwellers have created as retreats from the daily chaos of life. A sumptuous array of gardens ranging in style from working to exotic fills the pages, a diverse selection befitting different scales and changing seasons. From the lush produce garden of Eli's Vinegar Factory to a glass-enclosed conservatory perched atop Park Avenue in which amaryllis, paperwhite narcissus, and cyclamen grow during the winter months, this stunning portfolio illustrates innovative and original ways to design one's own outdoor sanctuary--be it sky-high or ground level--and is a must-have for homeowners, decorators, and landscape architects alike.

The Perfect Colour
How beautiful it is to have orange trees outside the window. Trees are a great source of fascination… A text on the Psychology of Colour states “orange is shown to have only positive affects on your emotional state and opens your emotions... and is a terrific antidepressant”...the best colour for a Monday morning...

Weekend Inspiration: Eurasian Flair

Weekend Inspiration: A Mix Of Things From All Over The World...
... and don't be afraid to try out: it works!
The image shows Carolina Irving's apartment, a room with antiques, personal finds, and meaningful objets picked up from world travels. When you look at it, there is so much to look at, but the mix just works. The blue and white dhurrie (once again, I love them really), slipcovered armchairs and pillows are charming and the space feels really relaxing. I just love it...
Carolina Irving (I met her at the fair maison & objets in Paris) is former Design Editor at House and Garden for more than ten years. In 2006 she achieved her heart’s desire, founding her own textile design atelier. She is based in NYC. www.carolinairvingtextiles.com

Color Inspiration: Im thinking Tiffany Blue
Tiffany Blue is one of my super duper always-makes-me-happy colors. Very joyful… and offers so many color matching options when you design with it. Mix it with brown, black, white, yellow, pink, orange. Tiffany Blue goes well with so many colors and looks good on anything: a dress, a bed, a door, a sofa, a rug…….. so beautiful!
Tiffany Blue is the colloquial name for the blue color associated with Tiffany & Co., the New York City jewelry company. The Tiffany Blue color is protected as a color trademark by Tiffany & Co. The color is produced as a private custom color by Pantone (for color designers: with PMS number 1837, the number deriving from the year of Tiffany’s foundation. As a trademarked color, it is not publicly available and is not printed in the Pantone Matching System swatch books).
China Glaze has a nail polish called “For Audrey” which is Tiffany Blue. Chanel has an new it-nail polish as well, called “nouvelle vague vernis 527”… so glamourous!

High-Style Nomads
Fashion Designer Liza Bruce and her husband, artist Nicholas Alvis Vega, lead the life of high-style nomads. They established a permanent base in Morocco – a jewel of a home...(the pics are all from Elle Decor)...
She and her husband - an inseparable pair who met as teenagers (it must be real love!) – amassed a global collection of homes, from a flat in London’s Notting Hill, to a palazzo apartment in Jaipur. „We refer to our houses as film sets without the film“ Liza says, who sells her fashions in her London boutique.
The home in Morocco features a variety of West African accessoires, the wall treatment is based on a traditional islamic design. An Afghan warlord’s bed serves as a sofa, pillows are covered in Kuba cloth from Congo. Antique Ottoman cushions lie on a daybed, a Tuareg bed with pillows covered in silk from Uzbekistan is in a guest bedroom. A Syrian oil lamp and a Mauritanian basket next to traditional Moroccan side tables painted in an harlequin pattern are beautiful mixed together to an eclectic style of modern nomads. I just love it.....
